The Steelers are a bit of a mess right now, to put it kindly. Pittsburgh is in last place in the AFC North, sitting at a listless 7-7 record. Starting quarterback Kenny Pickett has missed two games — both losses — after sustaining an injury against the Arizona Cardinals (also a loss).
Their three-game losing skid has done massive damage to postseason hopes, and conference rival Cincinnati looms on the horizon.
Now, they’re making a quarterback switch yet again. Head coach Mike Tomlin announced on Monday that third-string QB Mason Rudolph will get the nod for the Steelers’ game on December 23.
Rudolph starting on December 23? The jokes write themselves.
