Rams take over 7th seed in NFC playoff race after beating Commanders

Week 15 went perfectly for the Rams, who are now 7th in the NFC and clinging to a playoff berth

Don’t look now, but the Los Angeles Rams are officially in possession of the seventh seed in the NFC playoff race. They got a perfect set of results in Week 15, not only beating the Washington Commanders, 28-20, but also seeing the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons lose this weekend.

The Vikings are still clinging to the sixth seed despite being tied with the Rams at 7-7, owning a conference record tiebreaker over Los Angeles. The important thing is that the Packers lost because they held a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Rams thanks to their win in Week 9.

If the Rams win out, they will be in the playoffs. Their remaining games are against the Saints, Giants and 49ers, so it’s very realistic that they’ll win at least two of those contests in the next three weeks.

Here’s a look at the current playoff picture, with the Seahawks still to play on Monday night against the Eagles.

There’s still plenty of work to do for Los Angeles, but the Vikings, Seahawks, Saints, Packers and Falcons are all having their own issues down the stretch, while the Rams seem to be hitting their stride by winning four of their last five games.
