Josh Allen: Patrick Mahomes apologized for complaining during handshake at the end of #Bills-#Chiefs:

Patrick Mahomes caught a lot of negative attention for his freak out following the end of Week 14’s Bills matchup against the Chiefs.

The Chiefs (8-5) lost 20-17 to the Bills (7-6). In the fourth quarter, a penalty did not go the Chiefs’ way and it took a late touchdown off the board as receiver Kadarius Toney was offside.

Cameras and microphones caught the handshake exchange between Mahomes and Allen after the final whistle. During it, Mahomes continued an outburst he was having.

“[Expletive] terrible,” Mahomes said to Allen.

After the dust settled in the ensuing days, Mahomes went on to say he regretted his actions. Specifically, the way he was toward Allen.

“Obviously, can’t do that. Can’t be that way towards officials or really anybody in life,” Mahomes said. “More than anything, I regret the way I acted toward Josh after the game because he had nothing to do with it.”

After Mahomes noted that during a radio interview, Allen went on to add that the Chiefs QB reached out to him and personally apologized for the what happened. The two noted friends appear to remain exactly that.

“I know he didn’t mean anything by it,” Allen said.
