Draymond Green‘s presence on the Golden State Warriors roster is proving troublesome. The veteran forward has been ejected from three games this season and was issued an indefinite suspension by the NBA in response to his latest incident, which involved hitting Jusuf Nurkic in the face.
As such, CBS’ Sam Quinn has proposed a potential trade on X (formerly known as Twitter) that would send Green to the Dallas Mavericks in return for three role players. The post was put out as a poll, garnering almost 60 thousand votes. The majority assumed the Mavericks would decline the trade package, which looks like this:
Warriors receive Dereck Lively II, Tim Hardaway Jr. and a protected second-round draft pick.
Mavericks receive Draymond Green
Who says no?
Warriors get: Dereck Lively, Tim Hardaway Jr., lightly protected first-round pick
Mavericks get: Draymond Green

Given Green’s importance to the Warriors throughout his career and the fact he recently signed a four-year $100 million contract extension, it’s unlikely the front office would look to trade him. However, Green is likely running out of chances, both with Golden State and the league.
When available and playing at his best, Green is a generational defensive talent and glue guy. His leadership skills and championship experience are second to none, making him one of the most valuable players on the Warriors roster.
Still, Green’s issues over the last 18 months have had a substantial negative effect on the Warriors, and should those issues persist, Green may find himself on the trade block before his contract is halfway through.
