Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis had the NFL world buzzing following his impressive primetime performance against the Miami Dolphins.
Some of the people who spoke highly about the growth they’ve seen out of Levis thus far include Dallas Cowboys great Dez Bryant, New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, several national media members such as Pete Prisco and Dan Orlovsky, and teammate DeAndre Hopkins.
“I saw a dawg out here today,” Hopkins said, per NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe. “That kid is going to be great. I’m always in his ear, trying to help him. I know he’s still got a lot in his tank… I’ll still be on him when we get back. But Will showed heart. I love competing and playing with him.”
There were some occasional rookie moments the Kentucky product would like back, but for the most part, Levis had a phenomenal game in front of the entire country. Tennessee’s young signal caller completed 60 percent of his passes (23-of-38) for 327 yards, one touchdown to one interception.
He also masterfully led two scoring drives with 4:34 left in the game to take the lead, subsequently leading to the Titans to becoming the only team since 2016 to win a game in regulation in which they trailed by 14 points with less than three minutes remaining. Previously, teams were 0-767 in that situation.
