The latest USA TODAY Sports Women’s Basketball Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday and an impressive five Pac-12 teams made the top 10.
Undefeated UCLA led the charge at No. 2, fellow unbeaten USC was No. 5, Colorado stayed put at No. 8, Stanford moved up one spot to No. 9 and Utah fell three spots to No. 10. Washington State and Washington also received votes outside of the top 25.
Elsewhere in the poll, South Carolina stayed at No. 1 while North Carolina State, the only team to beat Colorado this season, rose one spot to No. 4.
The 8-1 Buffaloes’ lone game last week was a 21-point home win over UT Arlington, so it was no surprise that Colorado remained at No. 8.
Following one final nonconference test against Northern Colorado on Dec. 21, head coach JR Payne’s Buffs host Utah on Dec. 30 in a huge Pac-12 opener. Last year, Colorado lost to Utah by 27 points in Salt Lake City but later secured a revenge win at home.
