They didn’t play in Week 14 but dropped from No. 25 to No. 28 in Touchdown Wire’s new power rankings.
The Arizona Cardinals did not play in Week 14, finally getting their bye week. Apparently, they got worse with the week off.
In new NFL power rankings in Week 15 by Touchdown Wire’s Jarrett Bailey, the Cardinals slipped three spots, falling from No. 25 to No. 28 overall.
They were passed by the New York Jets, who upset the Houston Texans on Sunday and the Tennessee Titans, who beat the Miami Dolphins on Monday night. Both teams’ wins helped the Cardinals.
The Cardinals are just trying to get to April. They have a ton of capital to utilize and build for the future. The interesting part will be seeing if Kyler Murray is part of those future plans.
The Cardinals’ final four games are tough. They have the 49ers and the Eagles, both who have 10 wins, the Seahawks, who are battling for a postseason berth, and then the Bears on the road in the cold.
The Cardinals might win one more game.
If you compare their spot in the power rankings with their draft status, they are outperforming their record.
At 3-10, they would have the third pick in the draft if the season ended today.
They are the fifth-lowest team in these power rankings, meaning they are two spots higher in perception than their record says.
A competitive loss to the 49ers this weekend might have them move up again.
