Steelers HC Mike Tomlin responds to frustrated Steelers fans

Mike Tomlin has no defense for how frustrated the fans are this season.

I’ve been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan for a very long time and weathered some really poor seasons. But it is hard to remember a season as frustrating as this one. It is one thing to have a bad season when your roster doesn’t have talent but this group is talented.

On both sides of the football, from top to bottom, there is star power on this team and there’s no excuse for this team to be struggling like this. Head coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media on Monday and when asked about the fan’s frustration, Tomlin commiserated.

“I share their frustration,” Tomlin said. “Our business is winning in the last couple of weeks. We have not handled business and we understand that, and so we’re working and working with an edge.”

The Steelers reached a low on Thursday under the tenure of Tomlin. Losing two games in a row at home to teams at least eight games under .500 is unprecedented in the history of the NFL. And to be a team that is still in the playoff hunt just further confounds the situation. Fans want this team to be good and at times they are but the lows are so much lower than the highs, it makes it impossible to trust this group from week to week.
