Here’s how the voting broke down in Jayden Daniels’ Heisman win

It was the closest Heisman Trophy vote since 2018.

As expected, [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] became the third LSU player to win the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night, beating out Michael Penix Jr., Bo Nix and Marvin Harrison Jr.

However, while Daniels was the heavy favorite, the voting breakdown was ultimately the closest we’ve seen in the Heisman Trophy since 2018. That was the last year different players won the Heisman and Maxwell Award, with Penix claiming the latter this season.

Daniels ultimately received 503 first-place votes compared to Penix’s 292. He finished with 2,029 points while Penix received 1,701. There was a big gap after that between Penix and the other two finalists in Nix and Harrison.

Here’s the full voting breakdown.

It may have been a bit closer than we expected, but that doesn’t change the fact that Daniels has now etched his name into college football immortality by winning the sport’s most prestigious award.
