How Tampa Bay and Atlanta compare in advanced statistics

Here is how these NFC rivals stack up with some deeper stats ahead of Week 14:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to face off against the Atlanta Falcons, and as far as advanced stats are concerned, there’s not a lot to like from either side.

SumerSports put together a compilation of advanced statistics between Tampa Bay and Atlanta, and by those rankings, Atlanta is favored 8-3. There isn’t a lot of great stats from either team, though — both teams are ranked 25th or lower in at least four categories. The Bucs have an incredibly low success rate at 40.2%, good for 27th in the league, but the Falcons aren’t much better at 41% at 26th. The Falcons hold the lowest ranked stat among either team, as their pass rate over expected is at -10.2%, dead last in the league.

That being said, there are still some things to celebrate with both squads. Both teams boast great rush defenses, as the Bucs are 4th in the league with a -0.16 EPA/rush allowed while the Falcons are 2nd at -0.21 EPA/rush allowed. Outside that, though, the Bucs don’t have an advanced metric higher than 16th in the league while the Falcons have four stats in the top 10.
