Contrary to what he’d have you believe, Tom Brady was still an NFL player in 2022. That’s what makes the future First Ballot Hall of Famer’s stance on the current league a little odd.
After already critiquing the mediocrity of today’s game a few weeks ago, Brady was inspired by a Peyton Manning and Chad Johnson conversation on Monday Night Football. He jokingly claimed that “today’s rules” would favor himself and any receiver he was throwing to in a Pro Bowl context.
Again, that’s really funny, because Brady threw lots of touchdowns and thousands of passing yards under the guidelines of the current rulebook.
Why is he pretending as if he retired 10 years ago?
With todays rules? Give me Chad and Randy on the outside and we’re putting up 35 next week.
The bunker is no secret Peyton, come get some work in 😂 https://t.co/BTbm69oeWB

Oh, Tom.
To be clear, Brady is more equipped than anyone to evaluate the state of the game. But we just can’t let this slide. The man literally won a Super Bowl with “today’s rules.” Pretending otherwise, even in a joking manner, is a bit insincere.
