Clemson starting defender enters transfer portal

A starting Clemson defensive back has entered the transfer portal.

Clemson safety Andrew Mukuba has entered the transfer portal, he announced on X.

“It has truly been a blessing to be part of such a distinguished university, amazing fan base, and an athletic program that is second to none!” Mukuba said in his post. “I prayed that God would put me in a place that would give me everything that I have experienced here as a student-athlete, and for that, I am eternally grateful…

“After lots of prayers, conversations with my family, and several tough decisions, I will be entering the transfer portal.”

Mukuba finished the 2023 season with 42 total tackles and six passes defended. In his three years at Clemson, the former four-star recruit had 142 total tackles, 15 passes defended, one interception and one sack.

Mukuba joins wide receiver Beaux Collins, cornerback Toriano Pride Jr., offensive lineman Mitchell Mayes, quarterback Hunter Helms and running back Domonique Thomas as Clemson players who have entered the transfer portal.
