Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is happier than most to see that Tee Higgins will make his return this week.
After all, that means Chase should stop seeing the entire defense shifted his way at all times.
Chase talked about what having Higgins back mean for himself and the offense.
“That’s why I had the energy,” Chase said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “Instead of bringing the whole defense to me, bring the defense to him. Anytime I can get on the field with him I’m happy. With the three receivers on the field (with Tyler Boyd), that’s all good. He looked like Tee. Moving fast. He’s good.”
Higgins has been confirmed as a go by the final injury report and should indeed make life at least smudge easier on Chase.
At this point, the Bengals’ offense needs every little bit of help it can get as it proceeds with Jake Browning under center. Higgins breaking free of his struggle-filled season and starting to produce in a big way would be a good start for all involved.
