Injury news elsewhere could have a big impact on the Cincinnati Bengals over the next few weeks.
The best example is the Jacksonville Jaguars losing a starting offensive tackle right before “Monday Night Football” against the Bengals in Week 13.
But not far behind that is the Indianapolis Colts losing star running back Jonathan Taylor to surgery.
Taylor’s Colts are Cincinnati’s Week 14 opponent right after the Jaguars and this new injury could put him out two to three weeks. This, after he just keyed the Colts in a 27-20 win over the Bucs by rushing for 91 yards and two touchdowns on a 6.1 average.
For a Bengals team still technically in the mix in the AFC playoff race, if they’re able to beat the Jaguars and then face a Colts team without its best offensive weapon, it could be a huge deal.
Or, the other side of the coin — the team could harm increasingly good first-round draft positioning by beating a Colts team they perhaps shouldn’t because Indianapolis might not be at full strength.
