PHILADELPHIA–The Philadelphia 76ers returned home on Monday to play host to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers looking to continue to grow under coach Nick Nurse. The Sixers entered the night with an 11-5 record and looking to take their development game-by-game.
Philadelphia was terrific shooting the ball in the first half and built a lead as large as 46 on its way to a convincing 138-94 beatdown over the Lakers. Joel Embiid once again was dominant for the Sixers as he led the way with 30 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds. The Lakers truly did not have an answer for him all night long.
Tyrese Maxey added 31 points and eight assists, De’Anthony Melton added nine points, Marcus Morris Sr. had 16 points, and Patrick Beverley had 12 and six rebounds off the bench. Tobias Harris also added eight points and five rebounds while Nic Batum added 10, six rebounds, and four assists.
