What. A. Game.
Seriously folks, what a game that we just watched. This was some high-level women’s basketball. I can’t believe we already got a banger like it this early in the season.
This game went down to the wire, Kansas State giving the Hawkeyes all that they could handle once again. It would be No. 6 Iowa on top this time, though, defeating the No. 22 Wildcats, 77-70.
Caitlin Clark donned her superhero cape for the Hawkeyes on Sunday night, leading the way with 32 points. She hit big shot after big shot down the stretch, proving that their previous encounter with Kanas State was just a fluke performance.
Clark finished 10-of-25 from the field, including 7-of-16 from beyond the arc. She added six assists, five rebounds and three steals.
National Player of the Year caliber players should elevate their squad and perform in the big moments, and Clark did it once again. What a win for the Hawkeyes in an early contender for the game of the season.
Social media was ablaze with celebration following the tournament title for the Hawks.
