The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t thrown in the proverbial towel on the season, but it sure doesn’t hurt to look ahead toward draft season given recent happenings.
In a new 2024 NFL mock draft, the Bengals refocus on the offensive line by taking Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga at 17th overall, via Draft Wire’s Curt Popejoy:
The Bengals could lose their starting right tackle in the offseason and Fuaga is plug and play as a starter.
They follow that up with Oregon defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus at No. 49.
On the offensive side, it will be interesting to see if the Bengals get an extension done with Jonah Williams now that he’s had a breakthrough of sorts at right tackle. If so, likely at the expense of Tee Higgins, they could use that 17th spot on an interior player.
Defensively, the line needs help across the board, so the best-player-available approach would make a lot of sense there. Dorlus would help, considering he’s got a career-high five sacks through 12 games.
