[autotag]Jimmie Johnson[/autotag] plans to return for roughly 10 races in the NASCAR Cup Series during the 2024 season and that should be exciting for everyone. It is very good for NASCAR to see its legends with a desire to keep racing. However, what are three events that Johnson should run in 2024? Here, we go through the three best options.
The seven-time Cup Series champion competed in the 2023 Daytona 500 and he should run it back in 2024. Johnson was in position for a potential top-10 finish before a late wreck in February. The Daytona 500 is NASCAR’s biggest event and it would only be fitting to see the Legacy Motor Club owner and driver behind the wheel again.
Johnson should also run the Coca-Cola 600 after his short stint in last year’s event. He struggled to drive as it was his first non-superspeedway oval race in the NextGen car. Johnson has seen much success at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the past and it would only be fitting if he got back in the cockpit for another run at it.

Finally, the Chicago Street Course would be another must-run option for Johnson in 2024. The driver of the No. 84 car didn’t compete in the event due to personal reasons but was scheduled to run it. Johnson would be a great addition as the Chicago Street Course was a major success during the 2023 NASCAR season.
These are three good options for Johnson but there are plenty more available as well. A return to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Dover Motor Speedway, Circuit of the Americas, and the Southern 500 would be good options too. Either way, Johnson returning to the driver’s seat in NASCAR will always be a positive situation for the sport.
