Jason and Travis Kelce give Sam Howell praise

Former UNC football quarterback Sam Howell earned some praise from brothers Jason and Travis Kelce.

Former North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Sam Howell is finding success in his first year as a starter in the NFL. After sitting all but one game last season, Howell took over as the starter right away for the Washington Commanders.

Despite a 4-5 record so far, Howell has played well throwing for 2,471 yards, 14 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He has the Commanders believing they have a franchise quarterback and is giving them a shot to potentially sneak into the playoffs.

And now he’s starting to get praise from two of the best players at their positions in the NFL.

On a recent episode of the “New Heights” podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, the brothers gave Howell some praise following a close game between the Eagles and Commanders. Here is what they said via Commanders Wire:

“Sam Howell, man, when he’s on, it was impressive, it was methodical,” Jason Kelce said.

Travis Kelce, too, was impressed. “He can sling it, man. He can sling it. The Fighting Bieniemy’s, man,” the younger Kelce said.

But Jason Kelce wasn’t done praising Howell.

“Yeah, but it was like, typically, when you’re playing quarterbacks that are not well known if you make them drive the field and do, like, short dink-dunk passes, that’s hard to continually do,” Jason Kelce said.

That’s some high praise for Howell who is in his second year. If Howell continues to play like this, the future is certainly bright for the young quarterback.
