The preseason recognition keeps coming in for Auburn big man [autotag]Johni Broome[/autotag] as he was one of 50 players to be named to the preseason watch list for the 2023-24 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Men’s Player of the Year.
A preseason first-team All-SEC selection by both the coaches and media, Broome is entering his second season on the Plains with plenty of hype after averaging 14.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game last season. He started all 33 games for Auburn and anchored the defense, averaging 2.4 blocks per game.
Broome and the rest of the Tigers will open the 2023-24 season against Baylor on Tuesday night in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The game is set to start at 8 p.m. CT and will be on ESPN.
