North Carolina Tar Heels running back Omarion Hampton has been a consistent positive for the team so far this season. Even in the two losses UNC had, Hampton was a bright spot.
And on Saturday, Hampton became the latest North Carolina running back to hit the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season.
Going into the game, Hampton needed just 77 yards to reach the mark and it took just one half for him to get there. Hampton got to the mark with his 54-yard touchdown run that put the Tar Heels up 14-7 over Campbell in the second quarter.
Hampton finished the first half with 123 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns.

Hampton should have had another long touchdown run as his 75-yard touchdown run was wiped away by a hold. Looking at the replay, it was another one of those phantom holds that have hit the Tar Heels the past few weeks.
Since Mack Brown returned for his second stint, North Carolina has now had four players rush for 1,000 yards in a single season.Hampton joins Javonte Williams, Michael Carter, and Ty Chandler to accomplish the feat.
