On Thursday night, the San Antonio Spurs picked up their second win in a row against the Phoenix Suns. Tuesday’s game saw the Spurs eke out a one-point win in the final moments of the game, but on Thursday, they jumped out to a massive lead early on. And while the Suns fought back toward the end of the game, San Antonio held on, largely thanks to Victor Wembanyama.
The 19-year-old rookie was utterly dominant against the Suns, leading the way in the scoring column and helping the Spurs stay on top throughout Phoenix’s fourth-quarter run. It was easily his best game of the young season.
After the contest, Wembanyama spoke about his performance and how it won’t always be him to lead the way.
