On Wednesday morning, the Philadelphia Eagles signed former Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones to their active roster. Jones was signed to the Eagles practice squad over two weeks ago, he was elevated for Philadelphia’s two most recent games.
In 2022, he spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jones hauled in 24 receptions for 299 yards and two touchdowns for the Buccaneers. Soon after, Jones became a free agent. He recently joined the Eagles, but now will be a full participant on the active roster. In two games this season, he’s reeled in two catches on three targets for 11 yards and a touchdown.
With the Eagles being eager to make a run at the Super Bowl, they felt that it was in their best interest to bring in a veteran like Jones. His time at Alabama as well as his time spent with the Atlanta Falcons likely helped his case. Now, he is a part of one of the top contenders in the National Football Conference.
