Nets’ Nic Claxton, Cam Johnson considered day-to-day with injuries

Brooklyn Nets frontcourt mates Cam Johnson (left calf contusion) and Nic Claxton (left ankle sprain) are considered day-to-day.

The Brooklyn Nets are 0-2 after two close losses to the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Dallas Mavericks to begin the season. The common theme in both games was that Brooklyn played well enough to be in position to win the game in the end, but couldn’t close the deal. Now, they have more matters to consider.

After the Nets lost to the Cavaliers on Wednesday, starting center Nic Claxton was ruled out for Friday’s game against the Mavericks due to an ankle injury he suffered against Cleveland. To make things worse, starting forward Cam Johnson was ruled out a few hours before the game against Dallas with a left calf contusion.

Heading into Friday’s game, according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn said that both players were day-to-day with their respective injuries. As such, neither player has been ruled out for Monday’s game at the Charlotte Hornets.
