NASCAR gives big update on possibly taking a charter from Rick Ware Racing

NASCAR provides a big update on possibly taking a charter from Rick Ware Racing. Find out what NASCAR’s intentions are moving forward!

When NASCAR introduced the charter system, it came with a rule that kept teams on their toes over the course of three seasons. If an organization has a charter that is one of the bottom three in the point standings for three years, NASCAR has the option to repossess the charter. Well, the sport has apparently made their decision on [autotag] Rick Ware Racing[/autotag]’s No. 51 charter if it expectedly finishes in the bottom three again.

According to FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass, NASCAR will not repossess Rick Ware Racing’s charter, despite their current projection meeting the sport’s rulebook. Rick Ware Racing’s partnership with RFK Racing, the use of Roush Yates Engines, and the signing of Justin Haley to a multi-year deal shows their commitment to performance.

The NASCAR organization hasn’t been the most successful over the last three seasons but it is obvious that an uptick in performance is coming. Haley will undoubtedly be Rick Ware Racing’s best driver to this point and it will be interesting to see how he runs in the No. 51 car on a full-time basis over the next few years.
