James Harden returned to practice on Wednesday as the Philadelphia 76ers prepared to open the season on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. With Harden returning to practice, there is a school of thought he might travel with the team.
It would make sense if he did. Harden has been a good teammate through all of this, and he has drawn praise for his professionalism despite his obvious frustration.
However, the Sixers will ask Harden not to travel with them when they open the season first in Milwaukee and when they face the Toronto Raptors on the road.
James Harden returned to Philadelphia on Tuesday night with his bags packed to join team on the road for Thursday vs. Bucks and Saturday vs. Raptors, but the 76ers have now asked him not to travel with the team, sources said. https://t.co/N7GONkU6l9

Without Harden, the Sixers look to Tyrese Maxey, De’Anthony Melton, Tobias Harris and others to step up in his place next to Joel Embiid. Philadelphia has the talent to be successful without The Beard, so this is a move is not too surprising considering everything going on.
