Michigan State was shut out by rival Michigan on Saturday, losing 49-0 to the Wolverines. It was the worst loss for either team in the rivalry since 1947.
Michigan State has lost five straight games with defeat on Saturday and now sits at 2-5 overall. The Spartans appear destined for a second straight losing season, something that hasn’t happened since John L. Smith was the head coach.
