What an absolute disaster Saturday night was for the UNC football program, at home in Chapel Hill.
Entering this game, UNC was 6-0 on the year and the No. 10 ranked team in the polls. With their eyes set on the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game, things took a detour for the worst.
Virginia came in and smacked UNC from the start and eventually pulled off the shocking upset as a three-touchdown underdog. It was another one of “those games” for Mack Brown and the program, losing again as a 20+ point favorite in a game they really couldn’t afford to lose.
The Cavaliers leave Chapel Hill with a 31-27 stunning win as UNC looks to pick itself up and figure it out the rest of the year.
The season isn’t completely over but this one really stings and even if UNC does reach the conference championship game, it’s another ‘what if’ moment for this program.
