Dan Lanning offers injury updated on RB Bucky Irving

Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning offered a brief injury update on RB Bucky Irving after the Ducks’ win over Washington State.

After he had already gotten out to one of his best games in an Oregon Ducks’ uniform, fans saw the last thing that they wanted to see from RB Bucky Irving.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Irving took a hit and went down to the field, prompting teammates to huddle around as athletic trainers tended to him.

After a minute or so laying on his back, Irving eventually sat up, stood up, and walked to the medical tent under his own power.

He later emerged from the tent with his helmet on, and went back into the game for the final few plays of a 38-24 win over the Washington State Cougars.

We don’t exactly know where the injury on Irving’s body took place, but head coach Dan Lanning did offer an encouraging update after the game when asked.

“I don’t have an update right now, but I know he went in for the last play of the game, so I think he’s going to be OK,” Lanning said. “Obviously, we want to be smart and I’ll get an update from the medical staff.”

Irving could be seen walking off of the field after the game without any noticeable limp, so there should be some hope that he will be able to play going forward.
