Making sense of the Jerry Jeudy trade rumors

There are conflicting reports on Jerry Jeudy’s trade status with the Broncos. We try to make sense of the situation here.

The NFL trade deadline (Oct. 31) is approaching, and many pundits believe the Denver Broncos could be sellers ahead of the deadline.

Broncos coach Sean Payton has insisted the team is not actively looking to trade players, but coaches often say that even when the opposite is true. That’s not to say Payton is definitely lying, but it’s hard to take coach speak at face value leading up to the trade deadline.

Payton’s public comments haven’t stopped teams from reaching out to the Broncos about potential trades, and Denver has already dealt outside linebacker Randy Gregory to the San Francisco 49ers.

Broncos Wire put together lists of five players Denver should and should not trade, and one of the biggest names to watch is wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.

Jeudy, 24, is a talented player, but he hasn’t quite lived up to his first-round hype with the Broncos, and he’s one of their most valuable (realistic) trade assets (cornerback Pat Surtain isn’t going anywhere).

Jeudy has said he’s not worried about trade rumors, but Denver moving him to acquire more draft capital seems to be a very real possibility. Here are the latest updates on Jeudy’s trade status from recent days.
