New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared on his regularly scheduled spot with the Pat McAfee show this week and took some sarcastic shots at the Big Ten West.
“First of all, hello Ty…Are you excited about the big 15-6 barnburner that happened this weekend?” Rodgers asked. “Shoutout to a huge, entertaining win.”
Rodgers is obviously referencing Iowa’s win over Wisconsin last weekend during which the teams combined for 18 punts, five turnovers and only 27 total first downs. In his mind, that brand of football doesn’t bring much in terms of entertainment value.
This is where I’ll disagree completely. Many love to make their jokes about the occasional offensive ineptitude in the Big Ten West and the final scores of the games. But as Matt Rhule said earlier this week, it’s truly beautiful football.

Rodgers can go enjoy his Cal Golden Bears who haven’t had a winning season in four years. They average nearly 30 points per game! (But also allow more than 31 points per game).
I’ll defend the Big Ten West until its demise, or in other words until the end of this season. Go watch the MAC if you want meaningless points because nobody knows how to defend.
