The UNC basketball program remains in contact with this five-star guard
Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels are preparing for the 2023-24 season as tipoff is less than three weeks away. But the focus is also on future recruiting classes.
With a good 2024 class coming in including two five-star recruits, the program is hoping to build on that. The staff has set their recruiting board for 2025 with targets and near the top is a five-star guard.
Isiah Harwell is one of the prospects that Tar Heels have high on their list and is making a priority. The Utah native is ranked as one of the best recruits in the class and is starting to take visits. He will visit Gonzaga in November and then set more visits after that. But recently, Harwell caught up with Travis Branham to discuss the teams involved in his recruitment including UNC.
Harwell told Branham that UNC is very involved as it stands right now:
North Carolina: “We talk at least three times a week. They’re just checking on me and seeing how I am doing and what events I got going on.”
The recruit is getting ready to take more visits this Winter and it would be a little shocking not to see the Tar Heels land one.
Harwell is ranked No. 7 nationally, the No. 2 shooting guard and No. 1 player in the state of Utah per the 247Sports rankings.
