The last time Alabama and Tennessee shared a football field, we got one of the games of the decade. The two teams combined for 101 points, 1,136 yards of offense, and three fourth-quarter lead changes. The Volunteers won with a field goal that went through the uprights as the clock hit triple zeros for their first victory over the Crimson Tide in the Nick Saban era.
The two meet again this weekend, although the teams look quite different. Alabama’s leading passer and rusher from last year’s game, Bryce Young and Jahmyr Gibbs, were both first-round NFL Draft picks. Tennessee’s quarterback Hendon Hooker and top receiver Jalin Hyatt both left for the pros as well. But the record remains, and the Crimson Tide are looking to establish a new streak against the Volunteers.
Here’s what you need to know about that showdown and three more of the most exciting SEC games set for this weekend.
