The Miami Dolphins got some bad news after 31-16 their victory over the New York Giants on Sunday, as running back De’Von Achane was being evaluated for a knee injury on Monday.
On Tuesday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Achane will likely miss multiple weeks with the injury. Thankfully, he also said the injury isn’t expected to be season-ending.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter followed up stating that Achane is getting a second opinion to determine whether or not an injured reserve stint is necessary.
This is a tough blow to Miami, as Achane has led the league this year in yards per attempt (12.1) and has found the end zone seven times.
The Dolphins will have to turn to Raheem Mostert, Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks as the three healthy backs on the roster. Jeff Wilson Jr. could also make his return from IR soon to help out.
