Packers RB Aaron Jones officially inactive vs. Raiders

The Packers will be without RB Aaron Jones for the third time in five games to start the 2023 season.

The Green Bay Packers will be without running back Aaron Jones on Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders. Jones, who has already missed two games with a hamstring injury, is officially inactive after being listed as questionable for Week 5.

Jones injured his hamstring in the second half of the Packers’ Week 1 win over the Chicago Bears. He missed games against the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints before returning last Thursday night, playing 20 snaps and handling six touches in a 34-20 loss to the Detroit Lions.

It’s unclear if a setback happened. Jones was limited at practice all week and given a questionable designation on the final injury report. The Packers will let Jones sit another game and rest up during next week’s bye in hopes of putting the hamstring injury behind him for the rest of the 2023 season.

At running back, the Packers will lean on A.J. Dillon, rookie Emanuel Wilson and Patrick Taylor, who was signed from the practice squad.

The Packers made the following players inactive for Monday night:

WR Malik Heath
RB Aaron Jones
S Anthony Johnson Jr.
S Zayne Anderson
LB De’Vondre Campbell
T Caleb Jones

Heath, Johnson and Caleb Jones are healthy scratches. Anderson and Campbell were ruled out on Saturday.

Cornerback Jaire Alexander is active, as expected. He will get matchups against former Packers receiver Davante Adams, who is playing through a shoulder injury for the Raiders.

At linebacker, expect Isaiah McDuffie and Eric Wilson to get snaps next to Quay Walker.

In addition to left tackle David Bakhtiari, who is on injured reserve, the Packers will be without three preferred starters on Monday night.

The Raiders will be without two contributors in the secondary, including slot corner Nate Hobbs.

Raiders inactives:

DB Nate Hobbs
CB Jakorian Bennett
QB Aidan O’Connell
DB Chris Smith II
LB Amari Burney
DT Nesta Jade Silvera
WR Kristian Wilkerson

The Packers and Raiders are scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. CT kickoff from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
