Even after resting his shoulder against the Baltimore Ravens, and even after the Cleveland Browns took their bye week off, quarterback Deshaun Watson is still working inside while the rest of the team practiced outside in preparation for the undefeated San Francisco 49ers.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski stated that Watson is still “working through” the process of his rehab. After he struggled against the Baltimore Ravens, it feels completely unfair to trot Dorian Thompson-Robinson back onto the field against the 49ers this week. Thompson-Robinson and practice squad quarterback PJ Walker, however, took all of the reps on Monday in practice.
It is only Monday, however, so there is no reason for concern until the injury reports start dropping on Wednesday. The Browns will be looking to bounce back and get to 3-2 on the season this Sunday as the Niners travel east to Cleveland.
The concerns will grow if Watson has to miss this game out of the bye.
