The Philadelphia 76ers are preparing for the preseason opener on Sunday when they take on the Boston Celtics, and they will do so without several main pieces.
The Sixers will be without Joel Embiid, James Harden, De’Anthony Melton, and Furkan Korkmaz on Sunday against the Celtics. It is understandable to see Embiid and Harden sit this game out. It is the preseason opener and coach Nick Nurse would like to see what he has in other pieces.
As far as Melton is concerned, the Sixers would rather see him ready for the regular season than the preseason. Korkmaz sitting out is interesting considering he is fighting for a roster spot even if he is a veteran player on this team.
#Sixers’ James Harden, Joel Embiid, De’Anthony Melton and Furkan Korkmaz will miss this evening’s preseason opener against the Celtics at TD Garden.

The Sixers and the Celtics will tip off at 6 p.m. EDT from TD Garden. It will give Nurse his first chance to see his team in a live game against competition other than themselves.
