The Huskers celebrated Senior Day with a rivalry game against Iowa on Saturday afternoon. Nebraska honored its seniors with a commanding 4-2 win over the Hawkeyes in a tense showdown.
Nebraska and Iowa delivered evenly on both fronts, with each side shooting 16 shots. Sami Hauk finished the match with six saves off the eight shots on goal she faced. Iowa’s keeper, Macy Enneking, finished with a season-high seven saves, but off 11 shots on goal, tipping the scale in Nebraska’s favor.
Eleanor Dale once again dominated the pitch, scoring two goals off seven shots, bringing her season total to 19. This is Dale’s third straight multi-goal game and her eighth of the season. Dale is now tied for seventh in school history for single-season goals and places her solely in fifth in school history for multi-goal games in a career with 11.
Sarah Weber and Briley Hill accompanied Dale in the win, each scoring a goal to give Nebraska a 3-0 lead. Dale scored her second goal in the second half, after Iowa brought the lead down to 3-2.
For Senior Day, Nebraska honored Dale, Reagan Raabe, Audra Clark and Marissa Popoola.
Nebraska moves to 9-2-3 on the season, its first nine-win season since 2018 and can reach its first 10-win season since 2016. The Huskers host Maryland on Thursday. The match is set for 7:05 p.m. and can be viewed on B1G+.
