The Washington Commanders had an opportunity to improve to 3-2 on Thursday Night Football and have a few extra days off before beginning preparations for a Week 6 trip to Atlanta to face the Falcons.
All Washington had to do was get by the 0-4 Chicago Bears and losers of 14 consecutive games.
The Commanders didn’t show up until the third quarter, and by that point, they were down 27-3. While Washington mounted a comeback, it wasn’t enough, and the Bears won their first game in almost a full calendar year, 40-20.
