A strong start to the season means that Rutgers football is getting increased media attention. That national media attention includes the Big Ten Network, which is coming to New Jersey in a couple of weeks.
On October 14, the BTN Tailgate is heading to Piscataway for the matchup of the season between Michigan State and Rutgers. The show, which airs from 10 a.m. through noon, will serve as the backdrop at Athlete’s Glen and The Rutgers Boardwalk for an exciting slate of pregame activities on Homecoming & Family Weekend.
During the first few weeks of the college football season, the Scarlet Knights have provided their fans plenty of unforgettable moments. Through five games, they have posted a 4-1 (1-1 Big Ten) record. Due to their impressive start, Rutgers will be the focus of the Big Ten days from now.
Starting at 8 a.m., The Rutgers Boardwalk, presented by VisitNJ.org, will open, featuring trick-or-treating for the first time. An hour and a half later, the Scarlet Walk will take place, followed by the pregame parade and pep rally.
This will mark the 89th Homecoming game in program history. The Scarlet Knights are 54-33-1 on Homecoming weekend, with the event held every season since 1933, except 1943 and 2020.
Last season, the Scarlet Knights defeated Indiana, 24-17, for Homecoming. They will travel to Camp Randell Stadium for a matchup with Wisconsin this week.
