Where Auburn, future opponents, stand in week six’s Associated Press poll

Here’s a look at where Auburn stands heading into the bye week.

After losing a close game to Georgia over the weekend, Auburn has suffered a similar fate as the one they encountered with the latest US LBM poll.

Week six’s Associated Press poll is out, and Auburn has failed to receive votes despite playing tight with the No. 1 Bulldogs for most of the game. A total of seven SEC teams earned a place in this week’s AP poll, while Texas A&M received votes. The Georgia Bulldogs remain the nation’s top team in this week’s poll.

Looking ahead to the rest of the season, three of Auburn’s future opponents are in the latest poll. Next up for Auburn is LSU, who checks in at No. 23 after dropping a shootout to No. 16 Ole Miss on Saturday.

The win over LSU helped the Rebels climb four places. Ole Miss hosts Arkansas this Saturday, which leads them into a bye week ahead of their meeting with Auburn on Oct. 21.

Alabama appears to be back to their old ways after a 40-17 drubbing of Mississippi State last Saturday. The win pushes them up one spot to No. 11. The Crimson Tide will have a challenge awaiting them this Saturday, as they travel to College Station to face Texas A&M, who is receiving votes in the latest poll.
