The Raiders will be without two key players in Week 4 as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and Nate Hobbs were both ruled out on Saturday. Neither player traveled with the team after being injured in their Week 3 matchup against the Steelers.
Garoppolo suffered a concussion against Pittsburgh but was able to practice on Thursday and Friday. While he will be inactive this week against the Chargers, he is expected to clear the concussion protocol by Week 5 when the Raiders host the Packers on Monday Night Football.
Hobbs was also ruled out on Saturday as he continues to deal with an injury. Replacing him in the starting lineup will likely be Tyer Hall, who was elevated from the practice squad this week. Hobbs is the team’s best secondary player and it will be a massive loss for a defense that doesn’t have a lot of depth.
