WATCH: Curtis Samuel puts the Commanders on the board early vs. Eagles in Week 4

The Commanders go 12 plays and 75 yards on their first drive.

The Washington Commanders needed a solid start to their Week 4 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. How would quarterback Sam Howell respond after last week’s performance against the Buffalo Bills?

Howell owned his performance last week, and in the first drive against a terrific Philadelphia defense, he responded positively. Howell was decisive with the football, completing four of six passes for 50 yards, including this dart to wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

Howell also carried the football two times for nine yards instead of standing in the pocket.

McLaurin had two catches on the opening drive, in which wide receiver Curtis Samuel finished with a one-yard touchdown run.

The drive lasted over six minutes, covering 12 plays and 75 yards.

Unfortunately for Howell and the offense, the defense allowed the Eagles to march down the field and tie the game up.

Plenty of football remaining in Philadelphia. Can Howell continue to play well?
