Anthony Herron rides the Ferris wheel at the Rutgers football ‘Boardwalk’

Rutgers football’s ‘Boardwalk’ scene was taken in big Big Ten Network analyst Anthony Herron.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Count Anthony Herron as a big fan of the ‘Boardwalk’ scene prior to Rutgers football games. The Big Ten Network analyst even took an idyllic ride on one of the rides.

Herron is a former Iowa defensive end who played in the NFL for the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers. He now serves as an analyst for the Big Ten Network and also appears in-studio regularly to break down the conference.

He was part of Saturday’s broadcast crew that included Lisa Boyington and Meghan McKeown Wallace.

The ‘Boardwalk’ is part of the Rutgers pregame pageantry that features rides and carnival games. It is the drop-off point for the team when they arrive from their hotel and take busses to SHI Stadium.

The players and coaching staff arrive at the apex of a pre-game pep rally hosted by Dom Savino. The pep rally features the spirit squads and the marching band.

The players then proceed to go down the Scarlet Walk and head into their locker rooms.

The aforementioned McKeown also works for the Big Ten Network as a women’s basketball analyst.
