The first half of football in the early afternoon window has been anything but pretty for the Penn State offense. Down 10-3 against Northwestern, the Nittany Lions did manage to climb out of the hole and tie things up at 10-10 before going to halftime. But Penn State has had to fight for every yard and every point in a disappointing showing by the offense early on.
Trey Potts came in to provide a bit of a spark for the Penn State offense after Kaytron Allen got a little banged up on a second-quarter drive. Potts got into the endzone for the first Penn State touchdown of the game to tie the game up.
Potts took a handoff from [autotag]Drew Allar[/autotag] worked his way out of traffic around the right side of the offensive line and ran into the endzone for the score. For the moment, it was a slight bit of relief for Penn State fans on social media, which had spent much of the first half ripping the Nittany Lions for sleepwalking through the first half, at least on offense.
