People are freaking out over being ‘blocked’ from Discord

Discord users are reporting being ‘blocked,’ but there may be a quick fix.

More than 150 million people are regular users of Discord, an online community chat platform, but many people woke up on Friday to discover that they had seemingly been blocked from the platform.

Discord presented some users with a message that “sorry, you have been blocked,” and stated that Discord was “using a security service to protect itself from online attacks.”

The good news is that if you’re seeing this message, you likely haven’t been blacklisted by Discord.

Discord acknowledged the issues on Twitter, and said that “unusual traffic spikes” lead to users “being temporarily blocked.”

There is a potential fix. If you bring up Discord and receive the block message, try pressing Control+R and the app will refresh itself. This allowed me back into Discord, but your mileage may vary.

Some people are not dealing with the outage very well:
