There isn’t a lot of optimism surrounding the Raiders after Week 3. They’ve dropped their last two games and their offense continues to be one of the worst in the NFL.
However, the Raiders do have a chance to get back to .500 in Week 4 as they’ll travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers. That’s fantastic news for the Silver and Black as they’ve fared well in divisional games under Josh McDaniels.
According to ESPN, the Raiders have covered in five of their last six division games under McDaniels and are 4-2 straight up. The only team they’ve really struggled to hang with in the division is the Chiefs, who have success against just about everyone.
The Raiders have dominated the Broncos over the last several years and have fared well against the Chargers. Can they do it again this week and defeat the Chargers at home?
That will tell us a lot about how the rest of the season will likely go for the Raiders as a 2-2 start after the first month of the season is more than acceptable given their schedule. But a 1-3 start in the AFC will be awfully hard to bounce back from this year.
