Despite having to abruptly retire from football, Eric Wood got in at least one season under Bills head coach Sean McDermott.
McDermott, hired in 2017, has now been on the job for awhile. After signing an extension this past spring, he should remains for the extended future, too.
When discussing Terrel Bernard’s recent emergence on the Bills defense, Wood explained what he sees in the linebacker in an interesting way.
According to Wood, who now is a commentator on the Bills radio network, McDermott wanted to implement a new mindset in players regarding work ethic that veterans weren’t happy about during the coach’s first year on the job.
Now established, Wood said he sees that same mentality in Bernard because that’s all he’s used to in the NFL after only being drafted in 2022.
