The Houston Rockets announced Sunday, Oct. 8 as the date of their annual “open practice” at Toyota Center. As part of the fan-focused event, the team will unveil its new marketing campaign for the 2023-24 season, and Hall of Famers Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler will be on hand for a special announcement.
While general admission seating is free with tickets, registration is required. There are reserved seating and brunch options for a small fee, and fans who don’t choose the brunch option will be able to purchase $3 hot dogs, $4 sodas and $5 nachos at concession stands.
According to the team, the liftoff party will showcase the 2023-24 Rockets competing in shooting drills and skills competitions. It will be the first time for many of the newly signed Rockets, including head coach Ime Udoka, guard Fred VanVleet and forward Dillon Brooks, to engage with the home fans in Houston.
The 2023-24 preseason will open two nights later on Tuesday, Oct. 10, with a home matchup versus the Indiana Pacers.
