The signing of former Cleveland Cavaliers wing Lamar Stevens by the Boston Celtics has caught the attention of fans, but also left league analysts wondering exactly how he fits into the team’s overall rotations.
His defensive chops would indeed provide a clear role with the Celtics, but with players like Svi Mykhailiuk, Jordan Walsh, Oshae Brissett, and Sam Hauser, the Philadelphia native has his work cut out for him in terms of fighting for minutes this season to come. If it does not work out for Stevens next season, he is on an unguaranteed deal, but his slashing and midrange game makes sense on paper at least.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast had plenty to say about his potential role with Boston in 2023-24.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they think Stevens will add to the team.
